Circus Stories

Following on from the feature on Haggis the Clown last week, reports from the Sentinel show how learning circus skills changed the lives of three young people.

In 1984, two young people found employment with Cottle’s Circus as acrobats.  They had both trained with Haggis, taking part in the circus skills workshops that were run in Wester Hailes.  For the full report please click here.  Circus story 1984

The Sentinel also reported on Siaonnagh Morton, the first woman clown at the Wester Hailes Community Circus.  Siaonnagh worked with Reg Bolton before coming to Wester Hailes to help run workshops there during 1985.  For more about Siaonnagh and her story, please click here . Siaonnagh the clown
